Are you thinking of buying because rents are skyrocketing? Do you want some financial security? Are some of your donors asking you about your planned giving program? Then this workshop is for you!
How are Capital and Endowment Campaigns different from an Annual Major Donor Campaign? Capital and Endowment Campaigns involve much more money and may be conducted only a few times in an organization's entire life. The goal of Major Gifts is to have money for annual operating expenses. The goal of Capital Campaigns is to be able to build or buy or renovate a building or take on some other major expenditure. The goal of an Endowment is to insure financial stability forever. What will your Grassroots Organization get out of this workshop? Your organization will learn that you are capable of conducting Capital and Endowment Campaigns if you want. You will learn what is involved and what effect these campaigns have on annual income. Many of you will learn that your organization is not ready to take on such a large campaign. You will also learn:
And much more... Who should attend this workshop? This is a follow-up to Kim's previous workshop (Major Gift Fundraising for nonprofit Organizations). Attendees should have participated in that workshop or other training provided by the Center for Responsible Funding, or have a solid understanding of the basics of grassroots fundraising. This workshop is geared to groups with budgets of $50,000 to $750,000. What staffing/organizational resources does a grassroots nonprofit need to begin and/or to institutionalize this work? A group needs a development director or someone who can devote full time to development work as well as an established and functioning individual donor campaign. They need to be familiar with the principles of fundraising and have a good board in place.
