Daisies for Justice 2004

The 2004 Daisy Party was a tremendous success thanks to the hard work and collaboration of all staff, volunteer, and Board members. In total, the Center raised nearly $9,000 and are still receiving donations daily. This year was especially special because the Center held its first annual presentation of awards. Each award reflects an aspect of the Center's mission: to expand the funding base of organizations working for social and economic justice. The awards are as follows:

I. Nan Steketee Workplace Giving Award- an individual employee or workplace that has promoted charitable choice through a combined workplace campaign awarded to:

Individual Volunteer - Anola Vance, Health Dept, City of Philadelphia Employees' Combined Campaign

II. Grassroots Fundraising Achievement Award - in recognition of social change organizations who have made a particular commitment to grassroots fundraising awarded to: Books Through Bars

III. Reform in Philanthropy Advocacy Award - in recognition of advocacy/reform in philanthropy for grassroots and social change nonprofits awarded to: National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America - A Year of Black Presence Coalition
